As a -relatively- new player to WoW, I find the idiots extremely off putting. As you say, ignoring them becomes an art and helping those who genuinely have no idea how /2 works should be generalised, not a rarity.

I actually blogged about this myself a few weeks ago: http://mrandmrswow.wordpress.com/2013/01/28/monday-moan-2/

Let us educate the community together 🙂

Yeah, I think those of us who have been playing the game for years have simply come to realize that /2 simply broods trolling and harassing. Personally, I’ve almost become immune to it – as I don’t really think twice about it when I see someone being a dick in Trade chat. However, when it overflows outside of Trade chat is where the real situation lies, and as you said – we simply need to help educate the community in whatever way we can. In the end it will create a more welcoming experience for new players and a more enjoyable experience for those already invested.

I’m also on Aerie peak, horde unfortunately. The ratio of ally to horde is like 10:1
Got my hopes up when I saw another player from the same realm.
Your guild grabbed the aha from mine the other day because we didn’t have enough people haha
Glad to see another Ayer on Aerie Peak though! Maybe we’ll see each other around

Hehe, I’m a newcomer to Aerie Peak – but that definitely does appear to be the situation. You’re welcome to come to the Light side and play with us! 🙂
