FFXIV: Using Hunt Seals

Updated for Stormblood 4.0!

As we progress through the early stages of Stormblood, it’s important to understand how to best utilize your currency. Here, we’ll talk about the Allied Seals and Centurio Seals you acquire by doing your daily and weekly Hunts. Below, I’ve listed out the rewards for each Seal, ordered by what I feel is a priority.

If you have any questions about how to acquire these Seals, check out my Daily/Weekly Checklist Guide, as I cover Hunts briefly there.

Allied Seals

  • A Realm Reborn Mount Speed Increase – With the first stage of mount speed increase being unlocked via MSQ, the second stage is acquired by purchasing Riding Maps for each zone at the Hunt Billmaster in your Grand Company hub.
  • Cosmetics – Whether it’s glamour, decor, or minions, there are plenty to select from if that’s your thing.
  • Venture/Aetheryte – If you find yourself needing either.

Centurio Seals

A small disclaimer for Centurio Seals: Previously, you’ve been able to purchase current tier gear upgrades with these. In the current 4.0 patch, this is not the case. However, it may be smart to stay close to cap close to each patch for when/if that does occur.

  • Materia VI – Early on in Stormblood, these are selling like hot cakes at a very profitable price. This will taper off, but is a good way to either make some money or save some money for your own Materia.
  • Heavensward Mount Speed Increase – With the first stage of mount speed increase being unlocked via MSQ, the second stage is acquired by purchasing Riding Maps for each zone at the Clan Centurio Member vendor in Foundation(x13, y11).
  • Cosmetics – Whether it’s glamour, barding, decor, minions,  or orchestrion, there are plenty to select from if that’s your thing.
  • Venture/Aetheryte – If you find yourself needing either.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that, once you bought everything available with centurio seals (mount speed, glamour, barding, decor, minions, or orchestrion), it might also be a good idea to purchase the weapons/armors for desynthesis purpose. I don’t know if the rewards for desynth on these items are worth it though….but I assume you have a chance to get demi materias, that can still sell well.
GC seals can be used to get ventures instead.

Saying that because they made it easier to level desynth in 4.0.
So it is now an accessible feature.
I just reached level 140 on both my desynth, so I still have a long way to go.
    But it’s worth it!
